Why Reading?

Why do you like reading?

Sometimes I was wondering, why do people like reading? 

It might sound absurd to even ask that question. The thought I'm putting here, it might have come into other's view already. Well, I should admit that I, myself, don't have much of the answer itself though.

To my own opinion, as reading puts a lot of thought, it will enrich my mind furthermore. It helps me to understand where do people come from by reading their thoughts, their dreams or hopes. Even their emotional level was shown some times!

By reading, I always try to understand why those words or sentences ever appeared in this world? I always believe, through the light or fiction books, somehow, the written story or some of its points, were existed some times or some where.

Let me give you an example. Some said, that “love” only exists in fairy tales. But, if you think of it again, that kind of feeling will never come out of blue for no reason at all. Even if it never happened in real life, there should be found somewhere from some people’s thoughts or by the experience.

It’s true, such love will not always be seen or shown by people surround you every day. But, it does exist and it is something that people have been looking forward to experience it in their life whether they will admit it or not. Some people out there are always thinking about love. Dreaming about love; imagining how the true love should be. 

These hopes and dreams or people thoughts are the points that writers usually pick to start their own writing. Some people even put the stories into a movie that catches other people's heart or emotion.

The funny thing about reading is, some readers would be encouraged to make things happened in real life. Say, from reading an article that said, "if a day doesn't turn out as you intended, you should go back and chart the differences between your goals and your results, and this will help you learn from your mistakes." Some should believe it ever happened somewhere, sometimes, in this world and they wanted to repeat it again in their own life. 

They read the flow of the story and compare it to their own, and try to make some links here and there so then the whole story would be matched in order to reach the same target as what they’d read and what they’d believed it would work in the end.

The other example is, about UFO or about scientific stories. Nobody knows whether it had ever happened before or it is going to exists in the future. None can tell that. It is not different than fairy tales either. But where did that idea come from? Again, I believe, it did not come out of blue. It should be something to do with what people had believed, or had been thinking about it. They had imagined some things would be appeared in hundred times ahead. 

Their dreams and hopes lead them to such fantasy and imagination. And again, some writers would pick it up from them.

In other words, every point in books we read, are real. OK, so we don't understand some of the terms they are using in their writing. It does not necessarily real as a physical thing. But, most of the time, the source they are using, came from a real thing in this life. 

The people themselves are real. Then, it will lead you to another thought. Why do they think that way? Why do they ever imagine things like that? Why should they hope for that? It will give you more questions as where those people come from, or what do they do for a living. What reason to act that way? They must be come to face it somewhere and sometimes in their life. Or, they must have been facing the opposite thing that made them to imagine such points to survive themselves.

Now, we all can see that "reading" will enrich our mind, thoughts and knowledge, whether for a good or a bad reason. 

But, anyway, even if reading will influence you and to create a negative thoughts in your brain-cell, or to encourage you to do something very bad and to harm other people; it doesn't mean you should stop reading, right? Because by reading, it gives you more confidence and optimisms to face your life!
